One Vision, Many Jobs! The Haiti Marine Memorials are part of a multi-organizational effort to train and employ Haitians to rebuild their inter-connected ecosystems. This also involves establishing decentralized power systems and other practices that will help insure long term success for natural resource management. Marine Habitat Restoration: Global Coral Reef Alliance will lead the scientific and technical aspects of the coral restoration using Biorock technology. Ecocean will be responsible for replenishing fisheries. The “Foundation pour la Protection de la Biodiversite Marine” is the only marine NGO native to Haiti and will supervise reef locations. Soil Fertility Restoration: The Vetiver Network will manage hillside soil erosion problems by creating farming terraces. WorldStove will manufacture and distribute their revolutionary stoves in Haiti that capture greenhouse gasses in the creation of Biochar that can be use for agriculture. Green Building and Sustainable Energy: Natural Currents will develop sites and install wind, tidal, solar energy systems to our “Sustainability Centers” and BioRock reef installations. Human Resources: Global Volunteer Network will coordinate specialized international work groups & individually sponsored volunteers.
